My senses are excellent-                                                                           And my stance unique-

A keen sense to find you…

Making you weak.

My eyes are large-

My legs are long-

My spikes make for a firm grip…

You can’t be strong.

My head swivels-

Which is special too.

Other insects can’t do that…

Including you.

I appear to pray

And move super slow-

But I am faster than you think…

You’ll have nowhere to go.

Do not threaten me-

For I have something more special yet-

I have an evil-smelling liquid…

That will block you I bet.

I am a mother of sacrifice

And your father possibly my meal-

After crafting my egg sac…

My own fate is sealed.

I am an amazing creature

Who is full of practice-

Simply a masterpiece…

Is the praying mantis.
