Prison

Steel bars

Cement walls

A bed sits

Next to toilet stalls-

And inside the prison

Souls do weep

Against their secrets

Lessons to keep…

Within these walls

Prison is seeing

Even by accident

Known is meaning.

It’s when the steel

And cement isn’t clear

That prison is ignored

But staggered by fear…

And in these moments

Reality comes through..

Lost is life

Before anyone knew.
