For Sake or…

Void of regular emotion
Young become zombies to life
Isolation a given confinement
Self-torcher for insight.
No one knows the adversary
Or understands…
It’s different now
Because reality is what we pretend.
Ghosts walk the halls, movies and games
Solving the next mystery
And deciding who to blame. . .
Then causing new misery
In order to wake up or wise
Without maturity of consequence
Or the ability to reverse time.
So absent of future
And certainty of death-
Merely the sake of forgiveness
Only after true regret.

Dreamers

In the back of a minute

Recess of the future

Hope lies

Dreams wait

Love lives

Forgiveness opens

In a beat of the heart

Day bonds to night

Loves breaths

Truth lives

Minds sleep

Nature connects

In a change of moment

Futures change generations

Lives lose

Heart’s break

Minutes move

Time stops

Together they change…

And we are all they’ve got

Keeping Youth

Walk into walls

To see if they fit

Finger in socket

Until the shocks quit.

Ring around the Rosie

Truck bed rides

Drinking from a hose

God is the guide.

Eat off the floor

Before the final second ends

Remember it all

Even when time isn’t a friend.

Never Ending

washing-machine

Youth is fleeting
While the heart’s still beating
Feeling there is some youth yet.
Mixed are lessons-
And learned is wisdom,
Age cannot forget.
The inner child gets restless-
And always available…
When instruction is left to learn.
So repeats the cycle-
Like a worn down appliance…
Fighting life’s twists and turns.
Hope for tomorrow
As the student becomes the teacher-
By learning through the pain…
And once you think you have it-
The road starts to turn…
And it’s back to square one again.
