Needed Light

I walk along a darkened path-
Because the candle’s light lets me see…
The heart of people provides the fire…
For the light in me to be.
30 seconds of calm thought-
Can dampen angers rage…
The spirit of hope then finds us-
And allows to turn the page.
May we light the candle for tomorrow-
By what we learned today-
And lead with hope and love-
So we all survive another day.
Thankful for the blessings-
And the heart of power’s truth…
May the old become the wise-
And foster our growing youth.
